Preventative & Diagnostic Procedures

We provide a full range of preventative and diagnostic procedures including comprehensive and emergency examinations, periodontal assessments, radiographs, prophylaxis (dental cleaning), fluoride application for adults and children and occlusal guard (“nightguard”) fabrication.

Periodontal Treatment

Dr. Talmo provides diagnosis of periodontal (gum) conditions and performs scaling and root planing (“deep cleaning” or “deep scaling”). In some cases, patients may be referred to a gum specialist, a Periodontist, for more involved treatment.

Resin Composite Bonding

As one option to restore cavities or bond teeth for cosmetic reasons, Dr. Talmo places resin composite (“white”) fillings. Other options are available and can be discussed at the time of your visit.

Removable Prosthodontics

To replace missing teeth, Dr. Talmo fabricates conventional partial and complete dentures. If implants are placed, implant-assisted removable partial or complete dentures may also be made for a more stable and secure fit. Do you have a loose or ill-fitting denture? You might consider dental implants and a new denture to improve the fit and function.

Fixed Prosthodontics

Dr. Talmo restores broken down, compromised and root canaled teeth with crowns (sometimes called “caps”). A crown covers the whole surface of the tooth and is fixed into place with dental cement. This type of restoration is not removable. Sometimes crowns may be placed for cosmetic reasons to improve the appearance of one’s smile. Dr. Talmo restores cases as simple as a single tooth crown or more complex cases involving many or all of the teeth in the mouth. Fixed bridges may be an option to replace one or two missing teeth.

Implant Restorations

Generally, a dental implant is the ideal treatment option to replace a single missing tooth. Implants may also be used to replace multiple missing teeth. Dr. Talmo works closely with surgical specialists to restore dental implants with crowns, bridges or removable appliances such as complete or partial dentures.

Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening involves the application of a peroxide-based material to the teeth to make them brighter. Dr. Talmo offers a number of different options for teeth whitening. Wondering which option might be the best for you and your budget? We can help you figure that out.

Veneers

Veneers are ceramic facings that are cemented to the teeth. They can sometimes be used to close gaps between the front teeth or simply to improve the cosmetic appearance of the teeth. This is a minimally invasive means of enhancing the smile or concealing the dark appearance of a previously root canaled front tooth. When considering veneers, it is extremely important that the patient be the right candidate for this treatment. Are you wondering if veneers may be a treatment option for you? Call us for a consultation to find out.

Before & After #1

Here, composite resin filling material was bonded to close the spacing this patient had between his upper incisors. This is a minimally invasive technique that can have dramatic results.

Before & After #3

This patient wanted to revitalize her smile after years of being self-conscious about the existing crowns on her two central incisors. Crowns were made for her six front teeth.

Before & After #2

This patient wanted to replace her existing veneers, which were more than twenty years old. She also wanted to brighten her smile. Her teeth were bleached before removing the existing veneers. The new veneers were fabricated to have a more natural size and shape.

Before & After #4

Due to the severe rotations and flaring of the patient’s upper incisors, we began with clear aligner treatment to allow for predictable restorative results. Once aligner treatment was complete, the teeth were bleached prior to fabricating crowns for the patient’s upper six front teeth.
